Where Diets Go Wrong

The majority of people who notice they have put on weight immediately think the solution is to eat less. After all, eating food is what makes us big so reducing our portions must therefore mean reducing our waist line. Most health magazine and diet eating plans recommend reducing your food portions or trying to always leave segments of your meal, so the solution to being overweight must be; eat less.

Unfortunately this method is not entirely true. Yes, eating less can help to reduce your weight but there are far more important factors to making weight loss achievable. For thousands of years, humans had to face starvation periods and as a result the body had to find ways of coping with this starvation period. This means that when you try and lower your food intake and dramatically cut down your portions your body will just produce less energy as a way of compensating the starvation of food enzymes to the blood stream.

The most effective way and safe way is to eat around the body's defensive system and to basically eat smartly. Smart eating and healthy diets are always hard. Your body's cravings for sugars and sweet foods, for instance crisps and chocolate make it almost impossible to go a day without having that naughty food item. Your excess weight was not created in a day and will therefore simply not go away over night. It is important to keep a good intake of water within a diet. Often, we feel hungry when we actually don't crave food. Times when you feel hungry, try drinking a large glass of water, this can often help suppress the hunger for a longer period which helps to cut down your calorie intake.

Carbohydrates are also a bad food to eat while maintaining a healthy diet. Naturally your body will burn carbohydrates above fat and so the more carbohydrates you eat the more you will burn and in turn the less fat you burn. Try and reduce the most common carbohydrates in your diet, i.e. bread, pasta and potatoes. By reducing your carbs your body will start to burn off fat.

Exercise is almost the number 1 priority while eating smart. By consuming fewer calories than you burn will almost certainly help you to lose weight. Investing in a step-o-meter is a good way to see how many calories you burn on an average day. By comparing this to the food that you consume will give you a good guide to whether you are consuming more calories than you burn.

Many people try herbal weight loss products. This is a risky investment as some offer false promises and hope. If this is the route you decide to take, ensure you have read a good source of reviews on the product you wish to purchase and have had advice from your doctor. The most common form of weight loss product is the hoodia range. This is down to one of its molecules, the P57. The P57 acts as an appetite suppresser which reduces your food cravings, helping you to eat less throughout the day. All though this product sounds chemically tested it is 100% natural and is entirely safe.
